Summary
These technote covers the steps required to get Citrix Metaframe support for e/pop instant messaging and chat.
NOTE: The following technical brief assumes that the administrator is familiar with e/pop, the Control Panel application within e/pop, and has read and understood both the "Users Guide" and the "Administrative Guide" available for download.
e/pop Client Requirements
To connect an e/pop client with a Citrix Winframe or Metaframe environment, please follow the instructions below:
1. Ensure the e/pop server is running on either a Windows NT/2000 or Linux server machine. Take note of the server IP address.
2. Using the e/pop "Control Panel" application, "Open" an e/pop CLIENT executable file and make the necessary changes for the "Citrix Branded" e/pop client (NOTE: This should include a GLOBAL SECURITY CODE that matches with the server to ensure system integrity).
3. Run the "Citrix Branded" e/pop client. Select EDIT, LOCATIONS and ADD a new location with the appropriate server IP address. Ensure that e/pop connects to the server.
4. Close e/pop.
5. Take the entire e/pop client directory (typically under "Program Files, WiredRed, e/pop") and copy the entire program onto the network.
6. Place the directory (which includes the server location information) into each Citrix virtual session.
7. Within each virtual session, run the e/pop client and it will connect to the server within the virtual session.
