WiredRed Software Adds Comprehensive Record
& Playback Capabilities to e/pop Web Conferencing

Record & Playback feature adds the ability to capture complete web, desktop sharing and video conferencing sessions in multiple industry standard formats

San Diego, California – May 2, 2005 – WiredRed®, a technology leader in enterprise real-time communications software, today announced that e/pop® Web Conferencing now offers complete record and playback capabilities. The new ‘Record & Playback’ feature extends far beyond traditional solutions that are limited to capturing PowerPoint slides or an audio track, to allow the meeting host to save the entire rich media session with a click of the mouse. Sessions including audio, multi-party video, application and PowerPoint sharing can be saved in multiple cross-platform formats, including Macromedia Flash, Windows AVI and QuickTime. Depending on file format selected and access rights, the conference recording may be edited by a wide variety of third-party multimedia editing tools popular among users of Macintosh, Linux and Windows operating systems.

Many schools and corporate training organizations have been hindered by the proprietary recording formats found in traditional web conferencing services. The use of industry standard recording formats and related multimedia editing tools allows training and education programs to fully integrate live conference recordings with existing editing suites and playback-on-demand programs.

Record & Playback records the entire conference session, which can be helpful to organizations that are implementing new policies regarding communications and electronic forums. In the most straightforward applications, Record & Playback is ideal for recording important meetings for those that could not attend a live event.

“Our Record & Playback feature is ideal for ongoing training and education programs,” said Steven Peltier, WiredRed’s CEO. “Most products just record slides and the audio track. e/pop, on the other hand, saves entire sessions, including all desktop sharing activity, presentation material, audio and video, to record the complete rich media experience. That makes it easier and more effective for our customers to integrate web conferencing with their online training programs.”

“By using industry standard file formats our customers save money by leveraging their existing multimedia editing and web development tools. This makes e/pop stand apart from online services and competitive products that use proprietary tools,” added Mr. Peltier.

Record & Playback is just one of a multitude of new features recently added to e/pop Web Conferencing including two-click, multi-party audio and video enhancements that allow up to 10 or more attendees to actively participate, with full video capabilities, in a web conference session. Feature-rich e/pop Web Conferencing includes VoIP and synchronous video conferencing, remote control, plus complete desktop, application/document sharing and dynamic PowerPoint™ presentation sharing. Integration with Outlook allows for the distribution of conference and calendar invites from within the e/pop application. Once the invitation is accepted, the conference, including date, time, and conference URL is automatically added to the attendee’s event calendar. Browser-based e/pop Web Conferencing is a fixed-price, out-of-the box solution that can be installed in approximately five minutes by a network or IT administrator.

e/pop is one of the most secure web conferencing software products available and includes Secure Socket Layer (SSL3) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) as standard security features. It also includes new integration points allowing the customer to use their own Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). This significantly decreases the chance that highly sensitive, confidential information is leaked or accessed by the wrong individuals.

e/pop Web Conferencing, with the Record & Playback feature included as a standard feature, is priced starting at $3,000 for up to five concurrent users. Volume discounts and site licensing are available. Contact WiredRed Software for details at or at 1-858-715-0970.
