SAN DIEGO, Calif. - June 5, 2001
- WiredRed® Software Corporation, a premier provider of real-time communications software for the enterprise, today announced that it has become a premier level member of the Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS) Citrix Business Alliance™
(CBA). As a CBA member, WiredRed has extensively tested e/pop 3.0, a comprehensive suite of real-time communications applications that offers instant messaging, chat, centralized administration and enterprise-level security, to ensure complete compatibility with Citrix products. e/pop 3.0, with full support for Citrix® MetaFrame™, began shipping today.
"The demand for real-time communications and instant messaging for the Citrix MetaFrame platform has grown rapidly with the mainstream adoption of the Citrix application server computing model," said Allen Drennan, president and CEO at WiredRed. "As the only provider of corporate instant messaging to participate in the CBA, WiredRed is able to provide Citrix users with the ability to maximize the time and effectiveness of their enterprise communications."
e/pop 3.0 includes a comprehensive feature set that extends beyond traditional instant messaging with a suite of products including text-based chat conferencing, presence management, application sharing, directory integration, advanced encryption for maximum security, voice over IP conferencing, and Citrix and Terminal Server support.
Additionally, e/pop's strong administration capabilities enable the system administrator to control, configure and manage the entire e/pop client infrastructure from any central location. WiredRed's e/pop is designed to enhance business communications productivity by enabling rapid response capabilities and real-time collaboration.
"The addition of WiredRed to the CBA strengthens our strategy of offering customers the widest possible array of technologies that support a server-based computing environment," said Garry Olah, director, corporate development for Citrix. "We are pleased to welcome WiredRed, a company that provides technology to help meet the growing need for enterprise-level instant messaging and real-time communications solutions, to the CBA as a premier member."
