WiredRed Names Two Industry Veterans to Board of Directors
San Diego, California – March 25, 2003 – WiredRed™, a provider of secure instant messaging (IM) and enterprise real-time communications software, today announced that it has appointed two new members to its board of directors. Robert Slapin, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the San Diego Software Industry Council (SDSIC) and John Ingalls, who held CFO positions at Raptor Systems, Inc. and Software.com (now Openwave Systems, Inc., Nasdaq:OPWV), bring decades of software industry experience, management and strategic counsel to the WiredRed executive

Robert Slapin received his law degree from the University of Southern California before embarking on a career that has included international trade and business development for emerging companies. Slapin founded the SDSIC Entrepreneur’s Forum, a high tech networking organization in San Diego and was the founder of Blue Chip Software, which was later acquired by Encyclopedia Britannica. He has extensive experience in software distribution, joint ventures, OEM and channel marketing and has served in an executive capacity in several high technology companies. Slapin is a member of the California Bar and a founding member of the Software Publisher’s Association (now Software and Information Industry Association) and the Computer Game Developers’ Association.

John Ingalls has more than 25 years of experience as a corporate executive, investment banker and lawyer helping high-growth companies succeed through strategic growth, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital and deal negotiation. He was Vice President and CFO at Raptor Systems, Inc., which is now part of Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC). Ingalls was also Senior Vice President and CFO of Chrystal Software (a Xerox New Enterprise) and then Software.com, Inc., which went public in 1999 and merged with Phone.com in November, 2000 to form Openwave Systems (Nasdaq: OPWV).
