WiredRed Names Two Industry Veterans to Board of Directors

San Diego, California – March 25, 2003 – WiredRed™, a provider of secure instant messaging (IM) and enterprise real-time communications software, today announced that it has appointed two new members to its board of directors. Robert Slapin, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the San Diego Software Industry Council (SDSIC) and John Ingalls, who held CFO positions at Raptor Systems, Inc. and Software.com (now Openwave Systems, Inc., Nasdaq:OPWV), bring decades of software industry experience, management and strategic counsel to the WiredRed executive team.

“We are extremely pleased and honored that two seasoned professionals like Bob and John have agreed to join our board,” said Allen Drennan, WiredRed CEO and Chairman of the Board. “They both bring renowned industry expertise, as well as the legal and financial background that will be a tremendous advantage as WiredRed and the real-time enterprise move to the global stage.”

Robert Slapin received his law degree from the University of Southern California before embarking on a career that has included international trade and business development for emerging companies. Slapin founded the SDSIC Entrepreneur’s Forum, a high tech networking organization in San Diego and was the founder of Blue Chip Software, which was later acquired by Encyclopedia Britannica. He has extensive experience in software distribution, joint ventures, OEM and channel marketing and has served in an executive capacity in several high technology companies. Slapin is a member of the California Bar and a founding member of the Software Publisher’s Association (now Software and Information Industry Association) and the Computer Game Developers’ Association.

“I am looking forward to working closely with WiredRed and its executive team, which helped pioneer the Enterprise Instant Messaging market, as they evolve into a global provider of Real Time Communications technology for business and government,” said Slapin. “With a sound, proven technology and a customer base across many vertical industries, WiredRed is in the perfect position for accelerated growth and success.”

John Ingalls has more than 25 years of experience as a corporate executive, investment banker and lawyer helping high-growth companies succeed through strategic growth, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital and deal negotiation. He was Vice President and CFO at Raptor Systems, Inc., which is now part of Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC). Ingalls was also Senior Vice President and CFO of Chrystal Software (a Xerox New Enterprise) and then Software.com, Inc., which went public in 1999 and merged with Phone.com in November, 2000 to form Openwave Systems (Nasdaq: OPWV).

“There is no doubt that Enterprise Instant Messaging is a high value application that will continue to capture market share. WiredRed has done an excellent job at developing and bringing to market a solid technology which has enormous growth potential,” said Ingalls. “I welcome the challenge of joining the WiredRed board as they begin to aggressively pursue their goal of being the number one desktop communications application in the market.”
